Blog Stats
-
Hi, guys!
Just recently, I noticed on the blog stats that the pages of our blog (esoriano.wordpress.com) are already included among the TOP POSTS. Before, only articles posted are the ones that are counted. Now, even the pages of the blog are counted among the TOP POSTS. Whats the catch?
Thanks in advance!

There are three categories. Top Posts, Top Blogs and Growing blogs. http://botd.wordpress.com/

timethief,
i think i was not able to clear my point. each blog have a blog stats, right? on the blog stats, you can see SEARCH ENGINE TERMS, TOP CLICKS, REFERRALS, TOP POSTS, among others, right? Top Posts is where you can see the total number of visits of a particular post. Recently, the TOP POSTS section started to include counting the page visits in esoriano.
e.i. post A —– 10 views
post B —– 9 views
post C —– 5 views
home page – 3 views ***
post D —– 1 viewThis started happening two days ago.
I hope I made it clearer this time. thanks

It’s only on our own stat pages, static pages are not as far as I can see eligible for the Top Posts, because they’re not posts!

raincoster,
we have four or five pages on the blog (excluding the static home page). all of the four page visits have been counted on the TOP POSTS section of the blog stats for the past two days.
judyb12,
do you mean that from now on page visits will be counted on TOP POSTS stats?
-
Yes exactly, Andy said in the post:
Now, the Top Posts lists in your Blog Stats and your sidebar widget will include your pages. -
esoriano, I know they’re now on our stat pages, our personal pages for each blog, but what I’m saying is that they’re not going to be in the running for WordPress-wide Top Posts status.
And yes, from now on if the pages get enough hits, they’ll always show in your Top Posts section on the stat page.

raincoster,
i got it! but may i know why they have included page hits on top posts stats?

Some people do put static posts on individual pages and want to know the traffic to them. They put forum links, category tag clouds, posts, etc on pages. Have seen questions for those in the forums alot.

I’ve also seen an interest in hits stats on Pages. And I’ve noted that some people think all blog Pages are dynamic — capable of automatically updating.
