  Whats going on with the blog stats?

  I have weird graphs that make no sense – where is the really useful line graph?

  Have I changed the settings by accident or have wordpress changed something or is it broken?

  Help please!

  OK thats odd – less than 1 minute age they were wrong 60 seconds later they are back – nuts!

  The best stat you can have isn’t measurable: that which measures the pleasure you get out of blogging.

  OK, pretentious, but true: ignore your stats and just blog. The rest will take care of itself.

  This is all so fresh, I thought I would ask how stats are calculated. – what is “a view”

  1 session?
  1 page that is loaded?
  1 image that is loaded?
  1 computer that views a site in 24hrs

  other ??

  I’d love to know more.

  A view is whenever a page on your blog is loaded. So if someone visits your front page, that’s a view. They click on a post title, that’s another view. They click to your About page, another view.

  Any part of webspace with a unique identifying URL. Technically a page sits outside the blog structure, but that’s a niggly point as far as stats are concerned, so don’t worry about it. It’s every hit on your blog, basically. Every individual post, every static page, and the front main part of the blog as well.
