Blog Stats acting strangely?

  I managed to resolve MOST of last weekend’s issues (partially by changing over to Firefox) but in fixing problems I created a NICE new one… the number of hits went way, way, way up.

  For some reason, the number of hits shown at 0000 UT (+7 — Central U.S. time) keeps climbing, even though it’s now 0040 the next day. The numbers “look” right for midweek at the new higher hit average. Something temporary just slowing down the counters, perhaps?

  Or have I finally lost my mind?

  Something seems to be up with my stats as well; it’s apparent Google did a change some time in the last ten hours that affects the ways our blogs rank on them. In my case, I went from a #1 on Google to the middle of the seventh page. I’d rather be you!

  My WordPress stats have been crawling since late yesterday. I have received one half of my average hits.

  This sucks! :(

  The good news is that Google still has my blog as #1 on the first page and my nick as #2 search find on the first page. My Google PR 5 has not changed either.
  Technorati has stayed consistent. Authority: 296 · Rank: 12,281

  I think something is wonky with WordPress. lol

  Have you reported the details of this “wonkiness” to staff via a feedback? It would be the sensible thing to do as volunteers answering forum questions cannot help you rectify this.
