blog stats and new domains

  I have added my own domain name and made it my URL in wordpress.com. (ie under settings > domain > add domain to blog). So now my old wordpress.com blog is redirecting to this new domain name. I just wanted to know that if I look in the blog stats whether this will be detecting hits from people who only enter in the new domain name (without going into the old wordpress.com blog).

  No, it will count both together. Technorati will count them separately. I’m not sure what Sitemeter and Statcounter do, so if you use those you’d best check on their websites.

  thanks so if someone only went to my new blog domain it would still be counted in blog stats?

  Yes. It will be counted just the same no matter which URL they go to.
