Blog subscribers not appearing on the list of subscribers

  Recently a number of people have subscribed to my blog but then their email addresses have not appeared on the email subscribers list. With a couple of them I have walked them through the process to make sure they were doing it correctly and also checked that they got a confirmation email (which they did) – yet they still didn’t turn up. Any advice on how to correct this problem? I am concerned that there are others as well which I, of course, have not caught.

  Do you know if they are getting the post alert emails as they should?

  No they’re not …. although in one case I found out that the person subscribed with an email other than the one she used to write to me. But other cases still puzzle …. still trying to work it out.

  And you are sure that these are all email subscribers? Or could some of them be WordPress.com subscribers (who then wouldn’t show up in the email list).

  Also, do keep in mind that you are not alerted if someone stops following your blog. If they accidentally clicked a wrong link and took themselves off the list, that might be a reason as well. Though that is rarely the sort of thing that happens multiple times in a short period. It is typically just a mistake by a random person.
