Blog Summary – HELP please!

  Hello,
  I’m trying to get my blog to show the summary of each post but fail to do so through the Reading under Setting (worked before but I changed my theme), then I tried excerpt, but it didn’t work either. Anyone has an idea? I really appreciate it. Thank you.
