Blog Suspended Due to Error

Hi everyone, I don’t know whether it’ll help to post this issue here but I am posting on behalf of my husband who can’t access the forums OR even send a note to WordPress themselves to notify them of this error. He cannot seem to send any information to WordPress to notify them that his blog has been suspended on false accusations.

My husband is an author of children’s books and he has been using WordPress to promote his works for about a year now. Yesterday, he was unable to log into his blog because it has been suspended for violating the terms of service under the section: “Affiliate Marketing Blogs”. The blog in question is “flurrythebear.wordpress.com”.

Now under the same section in the WordPress terms of service, it says, “To be clear, people writing their own original book, movie or game reviews and linking them to Amazon, or people linking to their own products on Etsy do NOT fall into this category.” The author, JS Skye, owns the copyright to Flurry the Bear and has all the rights to publish, promote and sell his books. As per the terms of service, he has not violated any rights by putting Amazon links in his books. He also does not use any third party advertising programs and has never promised anyone that they’ll get rich quick by visiting his site.

So my question is, why was his site suspended? The notification on his dashboard clearly states that he violated the terms in the advertising category and yet due to the term I quoted above, he is an author publishing an original work and so should be allowed to have Amazon links. Can anyone help? Does the WordPress staff read the forums and respond? I don’t know how else to contact WordPress to fix this error. If anyone knows, please help.

    Thank you very much.

I’ll mark this for staff attention, but your husband should have had an email when his blog was suspended with a link which would allow him to contact the relevant department (I think, it never happened to me!). He should check his spam folder to ensure that it hasn’t been marked as spam.

Also, it sounds odd that he cannot log in, my understanding was that when a blog is suspended the user can log in but not post anything.

There is a contact form at the bottom of this page:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/suspended-blogs/

Staff does not discuss issues related to suspended blogs in these public forums and we volunteers cannot help you.

    Please use the contact form.
