Blog Title & Tagline Completely Unaligned

  Hi everybody,

  For some reason my blog’s title and tagline (http://spsbooks.wordpress.com/) have become completely unaligned – barely visible to the reader. It was not always like this, and I’m not sure what caused the change.

  Nice-looking blog. Do you by chance have the CSS upgrade? Or have you been copying and pasting text in either from MSWord or from elsewhere on the Web? Those are the only things I can think of at the moment.

  I just bought the CSS upgrade today and haven’t utilized it yet. Coincidentally (but probably not), today is also when i first noticed the title alignment issue (as well as the first day I’ve had over 3 hits, so I’m kind of stressed out right now.)

  Well, looking at the forums I can see at least four active header problem threads. I expect this is something WP.com has tweaked and they will need to fix it. Contact staff and make a full report with all details; they will have to get on this ASAP.

  Did you paste the entire CSS stylesheet into the CSS editor? If so, do you have “add to existing…” selected or did you select “start from scratch and just use this…” I’m seeing a lot of duplication when viewing things using Firebug and I expect you have a bunch of things in conflict.

  On second thought, where did you get that CSS you pasted? It isn’t the CSS from Ocean Mist – not even close.

  If you pasted that out of another theme, that will not work. CSS is theme specific and pasting things from one theme to another breaks things big time.

  I haven’t actually typed anything into the editor – all I’ve done is purchase the upgrade today and then browse the editor trying to look for the bug.

  Also, I was using the Ocean Mist theme before I purchased the upgrade. Do you know how I can revert to the original Ocean Mist CSS (if that’s what will cure my title alignment?)

  Go to the edit css page, delete everything from the edit window, click the “add to existing…” checkbox and then click “save changes.”

  Everything’s fixed! Thank you so much sacredpath!

  Wow, that was really simple. I’m curious as to how that random stylesheet got in there – it appears that all it did was affect the title alignment and gave me some
  issues in two out of three entries. But everything’s back to normal, so I’m happy.

  You’re welcome.

  I’ve never seen that stylesheet before. It has really strange stuff in it. That’s what made me ask if you had pasted it in from another theme or somewhere off of the internet.
