Blog Title
-
Hi
i’ve been playing around with my blog. It uses the Cutline theme & i’ve uploaded a custom header image, with the blog title as part of the image.
Cutline places the blog title in text above the header image, and to get rid of it i’ve had to delete the blog title in the General Settings. This however means that in the code there is no title, and should it eventually appear in a google search, the title will be the URL rather than ‘Lazy Rider Bicycle Blog’ as intended.
If I upgraded to the ‘Edit CSS’ option, could I add the title in General Settings and then edit out the title of the blog in the ‘div id=”masthead”……’ line?
As you may guess, i’m a novice so any help is much appreciated!
Cheers,

You could do that, IF you know how to use CSS. What we normally recommend is that you play with the free preview until you can get what you want done, then buy the upgrade.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Using Opera browser I viewed the source, edited out the title in the line described above & could see the changes that way.
I cannot do the same in the WordPress free preview unfortunately as the CSS provided is different to what I find when viewing the source through my browser.

Not all of the sourcecode is tinkerable: the CSS upgrade only allows you to play with what you can see in the Preview.

Okay, thanks for that.
I’ve found a little workaround by changing the code under ‘h1’ – changing the text, border & padding sizes to zero & changing the font colour to ‘ffffff’ (white).
It’s not ideal but I might go with it. It’s either that or buy some webspace with wordpress installed, and going the whole hog.
I know whats easiest! Can you see any issues that may arise if I get the CSS upgrade & use the above idea?

Since I don’t know anything about CSS, I can’t really give you any guidance on that, sorry.
