Blog title spacing and arrent hard returns

  This blog, and some of my others have a tendency to put in a hard return where I don’t. For instance, look at this blog and the title: http://mikebrandlyauctioneer.wordpress.com/2011/09/14/recognition-of-the-online-auction-provider/

  If I delete the word, “provider” the word, “auction” moves up a line. Add the word, “provider” and both words move to the second line.

  I had a similar problem with my blogs not too long ago, and wonder if there is a flaw within this theme, or some fix for it?

  WordPress is putting in a non-breaking space between auction and provider. Here is the source code for that title:

  Go in and delete that space in between the two words and put it back in and see if that helps. WordPress has been (seemingly) randomly putting those into posts and titles and for what reason I do not know. In some instances it does not make a difference, but in other instances, like this one, it does.

  Try deleting the letter before and after the space also then retyping all three characters.

  There is no code you can use in titles. All HTML will be stripped out of titles. To keep two words from separating, you use the non-breaking space code.

  I did some looking and from what I can see, what wordpress is doing is to always make the space between the last two words in titles a non-breaking space. What they appear to be trying do is to keep from having only one word orphaned on the last line if a title goes to multiple lines. This is a good thing really since you never one just one word orphaned on a line at the end of a title or paragraph, etc. Unfortunately in some cases this causes what you have which is a word orphaned on the second line of the title.

  I see you had done what I was going to suggest. It isn’t optimal, but in the case of this title it will work. I can see instances though where doing that could cause the theme to break, so if you use this solution again, always make sure and check things.
