Blog to website, how?

  I have a WordPress blog but want to create a regular website using WordPress and the same domain name. I’m willing to pay for an upgrade, but not sure which options to choose to secure the domain, hosting, etc. and be able to create from a website template, not be limited to blog templates. Also, many of the DIY website companies, i.e. 1&1 and Go Daddy, offer mobile conversion included in their packages. Does WordPress offer automatic mobile conversion for sites created with them as well? How?
