  I set up ianhemmingway.wordpress.com but I really want ianhem.wordpress.com. When I go to change the URL I’m told ‘that site already exists, but when I visit ianhem.wordpress.com it advises the site is deleted. How can I get it?

  Deleted blog URLs are not recycled.

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  You can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.
