Blog URL I want is taken, but has never been used

  The blog URL I am interested in using, greatpower.wordpress.com is currently in use, but going to the URL makes it obvious that it has never been used. There is only a WordPress introductory post from 2006 that hasn’t even been edited by the person that registered for the URL. Is there a way to contact WordPress to have them release that URL or am I just out of luck?
