Blog very slow, no idea why.
-
People are telling me that my blog takes a very long time to fully load. As far as I know, this is a new problem. I have searched this forum, and looked at my settings, but I have no idea why. Any advice?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It is slow for me (in China), and slow for a few friends (in the USA). This makes me think that it is universal maybe?

First time I loaded your site, it was a bit slow due to the background image. Try resize it to 72 dpi (instead of 96), it will help.

@millerteachglobal
Your blog loaded quickly for me but this is the report on blog loading time:Your website is slower than 92% of all tested websites
from: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/d5G80h/http://foodergolove.wordpress.com/
There are things you can do to reduce page loading time. These are the ways to reduce page loading time:
1. Edit your posts and insert “the more tag” so only excerpts appear on the front page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
2. Reduce the number of posts appearing on the front page here > Settings > Reading
Blog pages show at most _ posts3. Reduce the number of images and or media embeds displayed in your posts and/or make them smaller.
4. Reduce the number of widgets in the sidebar and footer areas.

Very good observation. Thanks for helping millerteachglobal here.@gamenology1

foodergolove.wordpress.com. – loads very very slow for me – you have a lot of BIG pictures on the home page – see the more tag above also – I don’t think that there is any reason to have a picture of Garlic & Onions at about 355 kb – under 100kb is fine –
slow loading is a big turn off for visitors – If it was my blog I would shrink all the pictures and not have a 750kb or so header either

@TT – gamy told another person to Delete their site to clear the content – I hope I caught that one – time will tell I guess – waste of time cleaning up after very bad advice – could be spent really helping people
