Blog violation?

Hello there. I’m new to WordPress and have only been blogging on WP for a few weeks. Forgive me if my query has been discussed before.

Just got a ‘This blog has been deactivated because we believe it does not comply with the WordPress.com Terms of Service or advertising policy.’ message.

My blog is about my family, my dog and my impending marriage to my fiance of four years. I intend to chronicle our wedding, her pregnancy and the birth of our first child. There’s nothing malicious in it! So far the material has been extremely safe and I cannot imagine why it would be in violation.

However once I sat down and thought about it, last week I googled ‘building blog traffic’ and I clicked on google AD SENSE. I’ve never used it before so I thought I’ll give it a try. I’m sure this is the reason WP has ‘banned’ my blog. I have no intention to make money out of it, and was only trying to find ways to build traffic.

This comes as a complete shock to me. What should I do? I’ve already sent an email through the ‘Error Report’ link.

    Right. No adverts are allowed.
Yes. Contacting support is all you can do. And wait for a response.

    Thanks Tess.

Gee this is turning out to be a rather miserable christmas! Wanted to highlight our christmas cooking and preparations….

Take your pictures and write your posts off-line and when they contact you, and you delete the adverts, you’ll be ready to spring into action with your posts.

    Is “error Report” link this?

    Contact

    No, it was this:

http://wordpress.com/error-report/?url=(email visible only to moderators and staff).

Don’t know if you can access it.

I have not setup the adsense on my blog at all. This means, I’ve not copied any HTML coding into my blog. Besides, I did not sign up for any of the premium services et al, so I’m not able to change the CSS.

Should I ‘retype’ my grievances through the link you sent? Looks pretty damn legit to me. Actually, i’ll do it now as I talk.

Thanks for your support 1tess. It’s a little bit of shoulder to cry on. I even wrote in full detail how I proposed to my fiance and our house, lives and all. LOL….no way I’m writing the blog again…shame..

Don’t know, it looks like your link is what you need. The other probably wouldn’t hurt.

Hey! Don’t worry, whatever it is, you can delete it and then they will reactivate your blog. I was just saying you could prepare your new posts and when your blog is back you’ll not waste time getting them published.

  • Unknown's avatar

Yeah let’s hope so. My fiance and I were just about to post pictures of our dog in christmas garb lol it’s cute and funny.

Well there’s nothing to delete as nothing was pasted onto the template.

Wonder if they’re even working this festive period! If not looks like my blog’ll be rather dead for a few days…

    The ban has been lifted!

    I cannot believe it!

Thank you WP support team and forum people. I’ve learnt my lesson well. It sure was a rather nervous few hours.

    Thanks again.

    Great and hoo-ray!! Happy blogging.

By the way, you should link blog to your name:
How to make your name link to your blog:
Go into your dashboard -> users -> your profile -> then scroll down to ‘contact info’. In the spot where it says ‘website’ fill in the address of your blog and save the changes.
Now… when you comment here and on other blogs, your name will link to your blog. If you do this before you post your request for help, it will allow forum volunteers to be able to help you quicker since they won’t have to ask you for a link and wait until you come back to post one.

Thanks 1tess. Mark of WP has sent me an email apologising and even took responsibility for the pain my in-laws caused me. Haha. What a fella.

Oh yes I’ll add that right now. In the hour or two my blog ‘disappeared’, I also took the trouble to read up a little bit more about WP and just browsed the forums. Who’d have thought you guys are mostly volunteers! :O

PS: Haha the blog received a few more hits last night. We all know why :O
