Blog visibility
-
I have reached a point where my blog shows up in web searches but the content of individual pages does not. I use relevant tags but cleraly there is something I am not doing correctly. Can anyone help?

We don’t have any control over what Google chooses to index, but for new content it will take some time.
To track the process, make sure that you’ve added your site to their search console: https://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/#google-search-console

Many thanks for prompt reply. I’ve carried out your helpful suggestion some weeks ago and this has made only a minor difference to results/traffic. I suppose what I.m really wondering is why when I use search on Google a result will appear with an indicator that it was published “1 hour ago” or similar. Mine never do and I just wondered if I’m missing anything. I’m blogging about stuff that should be picked up reasonably quickly (theatre reviews) if it is to have impact.

With so many websites out there, to rank high in Google results is almost a work in itself. We have some articles about SEO that you may find interesting, have a look:
Also, as to not depend on Google for your site’s traffic, I’d recommend trying to drive the audience to your site through social media:
I hope that helps :)
