  How can the visibility of my blog be increased and perhaps generate more followers?

  The best way to increase traffic to your blog is first to create regular, good quality content (which will make Google index your site more regularly) and tagging it effectively so you will show up in relevant topic listings in the Reader.

  Then you need to go out and connect with other bloggers. Read other blogs and leave meaningful comments (i.e. don’t just say “nice post”). This will encourage those bloggers and their followers to visit your site in return.
