  Want to set up web site with public front page and members only link. Everything after the first page would be limited to member access and would include a calendar of event and a discussion forum

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  That’s nice. You are in the wrong forum for support with that website, and need to be at WordPress.ORG for help with that version of the software.
