blog vs. website
-
I just signed up and in my haste to get going, I signed up for a blog instead of a website… can I switch? Or am I on the right path anyway? Totally new to this, so please pardon the stupid question.
Thanks,

Hello! Welcome to WordPress!
You blog is your website. Your WordPress.COM blog is hosted at and by WordPress.
You have a couple options:
1. You can purchase a domain name and map it to your blog. Thus, when someone enters in http://www.YOURDOMAINNAME.com they will be shown your WordPress.COM blog.
2. You can use WordPress.ORG software via a Domain Service (such as GoDaddy) that supports and hosts it.
