Blog vs. Website

    I already had a blog on WordPress.com. Then I decided to also set up a website, which I want to include the blog. I paid for the domain name. But the web site address is the same as the blog. Did I make a mistake in purchasing the domain name? Is the web site the same thing as the blog? I had hoped to add more features to the website. Is it possible to separate the two?
