  how do i change the width of the blog to 900px

  Since your blog is private, we can’t see it and don’t know what theme you are using or anything else.

  If you are talking about a blog other than http://sultree.wordpress.com/ , then we need a link to it. If you are talking about that one, then we at the very least need to know what theme you are using.
