Ok, I think I’ve discovered the issue. It looks like it might be this:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4144229?tstart=0
I think all you need to do is click “Allow” next time you see that popup message. But if that doesn’t work try opening a terminal and running the command to increase the default storage size in Safari.
defaults write com.apple.Safari DefaultDatabaseQuota 11000000
Let us know how you go. Thanks!

I haven’t seen the popup menu since June 1 so I better do the command in the terminal. What about Chrome, Firefox, and Opera since the same problem exists there?
-
I ran this command: defaults write com.apple.Safari DefaultDatabaseQuota 11000000 in the terminal. It said the command was completed, but when I reopened Safari the problem was still there. I repeated this five times to no avail.

I’m still waiting on a response to my post at 1:11 pm. How long will this go on? I am relying on WordPress to solve the problem. I’m a photographer by trade. I know nothing about blogs other than how to make a post.

Does this look correct?

The Mod Look field is missing from this page. That is why I’m not importing my screen grabs into WP Media Library. I was afraid you might not find them.
-
Don’t worry about the modlook tag. Staff always follow-up threads they have posted into even when the tag isn’t there.
-
Thanks timetheif. That will save me some time…even though my blog is running at a snails pace.

Hi @mrbisogno,
I haven’t forgotten about you! We’re all a bit stumped on this. I’ve asked our developers about it to see whether they’ve come across it before. I’ll keep you posted!
-
I appreciate your persistence rachelsquirrel.
When you sent me this link: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4144229?tstart=0 I read the comments and it seemed like it worked for them. I’m wondering why it didn’t work for me. Did I do it correctly?
I am anxious to hear what the developers have to say.

I updated Safari and Firefox, then installed Chrome and Opera as well. They all have the same problem, Chrome being slightly better than the others. Will reinstalling make a difference over updating?
-
Did you see all the javascript errors in Chrome I posted? Is this why I’m not getting gravitars, thumbnails, etc.?

Are you behind a firewall? Can you try typing this into your Terminal:
ping secure.gravatar.com
Let me know what happens.
-
I have a crazy idea. If you use a MacBook, unplug the charger do a complete shutdown. Restart without the charger. You can plug it in again after its running. It could be that some services are not running like they should. Anyhow its a shot.
-
@ zazter: I have a Mac Pro Tower (early 2009) running 10.10.4 so this would not be my problem, but I really appreciate your input.
-
@ rachelsquirrel: I am behind the Mac firewall. I will save “ping secure.gravatar.com” for future reference since my problem is gone from all browsers! About 15 minutes ago I downloaded the latest Adobe Flash Reader and the problem immediately disappeared. When this problem first reared its ugly head around June 1st, the first thing I tried was downloading the latest Flash Reader and it didn’t work. Today’s download “Reader v22_a” did the trick. In fact, I can see your thumbnail (for the first time) as we speak.
-
Wow! So all that was required was updating Adobe Flash? You didn’t do anything else at all?
-
Yeah, every browser started working immediately after updating flash. As I said, I updated Flash in the very beginning of this mess and that version did nothing, but v22_a fixed it in…well…a flash! Make a note of this and I will too. It’s a good day for me, and the WordPress Happiness Engineers. Thanks to everyone who participated in this thread.
Best,
Bisogno
