Blog will not receive pingbacks or trackbacks

My blog http://deeplycommitted.wordpress.com is not receiving pingbacks or trackbacks from other blogs. It is sending them, but not receiving them.
Here is an example: This post links to a post on my blog: http://thoughtsofresurrection.wordpress.com/2007/12/06/speedlinking-december-6-2007/
(It is the one that says “Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow”When I click on it, (I have tried it logged into my wordpress.com account, and logged out) it never sends a pingback to my blog.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.

First, under options > discussion check that you have “Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks.)” checked. If not, check it and click “update options.” Also, on the post that he referenced, open it like you were going to edit it, and under the “discussion” bar at the right of the edit area, see if you have “allow pings” checked. If not, select it and save the post.
If it was selected, ask the other blog owner (if you can) if he has it selected in his blog.

I’ll do a test post with a link to you that you can look for from my test blog “opposable thumbz” and then you can delete it.
I just sent it to your current post. It may take a few minutes for it to show up, or possibly longer.

thank you for your help. First, all of the things you suggested on my end I already had done. I sent the guy at the other blog an email to find out where he is at on his end. I have not received yours, but I will keep my eyes open. Thank you very much for your help.

mark – i linked to a post on my blog from testtrack and it immediately sent a pingback to my blog when I clicked on it. So, why are the other ones not working? For example, I still have not received thesacredpath’s pingback…
and I have not received one from the last several posts that have linked to posts on my blog.
is my blog possessed…

Have you check your akismet spam under comments in your dashboard just to make sure they aren’t there? It shouldn’t catch them, but then again you never know.

I can’t explain why things do or do not arrive. I set that blog up knowing that it definitely works in both directions and to save people making and deleting many posts elsewhere.
And it’s upgraded and now running the diurnal theme – I really like that theme.
