Blogger Email Address Security

Hi! New to wordpress and blogging. This blog was set up so that employees can vent their frustrations and say it like it is without the employer discovering who they are. Is there any way that someone can find out someone’s identity or email address when they post or leave a comment in wordpress. If so, if there any work-around or security patch or something that will make it safe and secure for freedom of speech?! Thanks!

Yes, of course there is. Freedom of speech and guarantee of pseudonymity are not the same thing.
If someone comments using an email or while signed in to WordPress, the blog administrator can see their email and IP. Therefore, if they comment on any other site using their username or email, that becomes visible to the person running that blog.
If someone registers a domain name, their actual personal info is publicly available.
The most likely scenario, especially if you expand to more than a dozen people, is that either someone will post it to their facebook page, thus exposing the entire network (and it won’t be difficult to figure out who is who) or they will show a friend, who will then link to it with “this is Suzi’s new blog” and there you go, Suzi is hung out to dry.

People talk – they pass things on to friends – someone mentions the watering hole you all stop at after work in a Post or comment – very detailed information is left that narrows down an observation to a small work group or area – I have seen very few people that can keep a secret – it is truly a secret if only one person know about it – I have done some practical jokes over the years and it is very difficult to keep a straight face sometimes when a prank is a real good one.
