Blogger-imported images not formatting and theme header replication for email?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there
I have a couple of questions. First, I have auto-imported from Blogger, which went smoothly, except that the images that were imported won’t display as centered. When I’m on the “edit post” page, they look correct, center formatted just like the text, and centered is selected in the formatting tools. But when I view outside of edit mode they are left justified. Any ideas?

My second question is about my Premium theme. I would like to replicate the header and links bar at the top of the home page for use in my email newsletters that I send via Mailchimp. Is it possible to get that somehow as a jpg? Or do I have to play in Mailchimp to make it look like that myself?
    Thanks,
    Nancy

  • Hi Nancy,

Sure thing—can you send me a couple of links to pages that the images aren’t centering as expected? A checked a couple of random pages and it worked.

For the e-mail header, if nothing else, you can make a screenshot and use that in your e-mail newsletter. I haven’t reconfigured a campaign in MailChimp in awhile, but I’m almost positive it doesn’t require extra cost on their end.

Their support would be the best folks to ask about the best way to make the links in the header work (be it via the image, or more likely, a bit of customization to include the links as text).

    Cheers!

  • Hi Nancy,

It looks that the images during the process weren’t given an alignment. We add this when adding a post through the WordPress interface, but can be missed on imports.

We’re working on a new editor to help make what you see on the Edit screen look more like what you see when publishing your post, so ideally, when that’s finished, both will match up.

To resolve this, you’ll need to do a couple of steps. When editing a post in question, click on the image, then click on the little picture icon that appears. On the pop-up that opens. click the button next to the Center alignment option. Click Update to update the image, then once all the images are done on your post, click Update to save the post.

I’ve made a little slideshow of the steps to help: https://cloudup.com/cID0bWo89OI

Please let me know if you have any questions or need anything else. Cheers!
