Blogger Importer Missing on WordPress.com – How to Migrate Now?
-
Hi,
I would like to transfer my blog from Blogger to WordPress.com. In older guides and tutorials, it says that you need to go to Tools → Import and select “Blogger”. However, I don’t see the Blogger importer anymore.
I have checked the import section, but the Blogger option is not listed. I also couldn’t find any official information about this feature being removed or changed.
I already have an export from Blogger (ZIP archive with the XML file), but there is no clear way to upload it.
Has the Blogger importer been removed? What is the correct way to migrate a Blogger blog to WordPress.com now?
Any advice would be appreciated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The missing Blogger option in the WordPress.com import menu is a result of recent updates to how WordPress handles third-party importers, which now favors a universal XML content importer. While older tutorials point to a dedicated “Blogger” button, the current system is designed to recognize Blogger’s specific XML format through the standard WordPress or Upload tools. Since you already have your Blogger export as an XML file, you can complete the migration by extracting that file from your ZIP archive and uploading it directly to the Tools → Import section. This streamlined process allows the WordPress.com engine to “unpack” your posts, comments, and images automatically, though you may need to manually assign your imported content to a local author account once the upload is finished.
