Blogger plan
-
Hi, I’ve created a free blog, and want to upgrade to the Blogger plan. When I go to the upgrade plan it only shows the Personal plan upwards as available. Why is this?
-
Huh! That’s curious. Let me flag this thread for Staff assistance as it appears the Blogger upgrade plan is AWOL from the Plans dashboard. Thanks for your patience.
-
In the meantime, you should be able to sign up for the Blogger plan through the Plans page at https://wordpress.com/pricing/

Hi there,
The Blogger plan is no longer available to new users for purchase. Based on our research and feedback on the Blogger plan, we have determined that our other plans are better suited to the needs of our customers.
-
https://wordpress.com/pricing/ still shows the Blogger plan for me. You’d think that page would have been updated first.
For future reference what happens at renewal time for people with existing Blogger plans? I’ve seen a number of people sign up to that cheapest plan just for the “no ads” option. -
Thanks for asking about grandfathering existing plan users, @themagicrobot. I was just coming back to ask that same question.
-
And as I thought the Blogger plan was great for people not wanting (the ever increasing amounts of) ads on their site (I even considered upgrading to the Blogger plan for my site) why couldn’t the powers-that-be at WordPress.com consider the re-introduction of a stand alone no ads upgrade. At a reasonable fee per year I’m sure it would be popular. Not everyone wants/needs the bundle of stuff in plans.

It’s a shame the Blogger plan is no longer available. I would have used it as it provides a ad-free, custom domain blog without the bells and whistles that I have no need for. The personal plan is nearly twice the price for hardly any added benefit for me. I can get a basic ad free blog platform elsewhere….
-
Wow, really?! I checked the pricing last week and was ready to pay for the Blogger plan today (to remove ads). Now, that option is gone. Guess I’ll look elsewhere.
-
I have just pay for .blog domain so I can use the Blogger plan, and now it’s gone! Not cool, it is good that you can refund the perches.
