  I clicked the wrong box when signing up (doh!). How do I change from blogger to user?

  Hi Neil,

  You need to go to your blog dashboard > Options > Delete Blog and follow the delete instructions there. Once you’ve completed that process and deleted your blog it’ll be just like you never signed up for it in the first place! One thing to keep in mind however, is that the URL neilbicknell1.wordpress.com will not be usable again, so if you’re in any doubt as to whether you might want to put a blog there at any stage it wouldn’t do any harm to keep it.

  Hi again Hanni

  It says ‘your email address can not be used to create another account. I only have the one email address and I simply want to change my status from blogger to user. Surely, it must be possible to delete the neilbicknell1 user name and create another one with my sole email address.

  No, I believe you can delete the BLOG, and that makes you a user automatically. You don’t have to delete the account, and I don’t believe that you can in fact delete an account. And you’d need a new email to set up a new account anyway.

  Under your Dashboard, go to Options and there you’ll find a tab to delete the blog.

  I feel we are rather going in circles here. The post I sent to Hanni when I referred to deleting my ‘account’ refers to what you call deleting my ‘blog’. The same problem as I outlined in that post still applies

  Neil, if you follow my instructions in my original post you will delete your weblog (http://neilbicknell1.wordpress.com) and end up with just a user account with the username neilbicknell1. You don’t need to sign up again, this will change you from ‘blogger’ to ‘user’.

  Let me know if I’m goofily leading you up the garden path; I’m reasonably convinced that that’s what you’re after.
