Blogger to WordPress and Redirecting Site
-
I’m trying to use a Blogger purchased domain for something other than my blogger blog
So, I first moved the Blogger blog away from the domain.
Then, I purchased the Redirect through WordPress and followed the instructions to redirect my wordpress.com blog to the purchased domain.
When I go to the url, I’m getting a 404 error.
A few questions….
– was it the redirect that I wanted to purchased in WordPress; will wordpress still host the blog and redirect it to the purchased domain?
– how long does this process typically take – both the detaching of the Blogger blog from the url and then the redirect.
– if time is not a factor, what else could have gone wrong?
Nervous about the site being down.
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Ok…what I think is happening is a “loop”, When I type in the url, it goes to wordpress and when I type in wordpress it goes to the url.
Any suggestions?

Is this the error message you are receiving?
The page isn’t redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept

I’m using Safari and the only error I received was a 404 error with no additional information.
I received some help at Go Daddy, and I think the problem was in that I made the .org site my primary site when I really wanted my wordpress site to be primary and to redirect to the .org.
If anyone can verify this, I think it would be helpful, because when I paid for the redirect, I did not know which site (the wordpress site or .org site) to set as my primary.
