Blogger to WordPress Migration — Permalinks Structure
-
Hello All,
I’m migrating my blogger blog to wordpress and found a good tutorial I could follow. It suggests the new blog to have a permalink structure as close to the existing blogger blog which is site.com/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%.html. Is there any way I can rever t to site.com/%postname%/ structure without breaking the blogger and search engine redirects?
Thanks in advance.

Before we can answer, it’s really important to understand which “WordPress” you are referring to.
Do you mean you want to import your Blogger site into WordPress.com at aaworld545.wordpress.com? If so, here’s a guide for that: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/coming-from-blogger/
Any other tutorial you may have found on the interwebz most likely deals with the standalone WP software found at http://wordpress.org/
WordPress.com and WordPress are actually separate entities. Here’s a guide that will give you an explanation: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
So, again, help us to understand which WordPress you mean.

Thanks a lot for the response. I forgot to include I was referring to the standalone WP software which is running off my server.

Then >> https://wordpress.org/support/ is where you’ll find assistance. If you don’t have a username there, you’ll need to register one.
Best wishes!

is it possible to change permalink settings in a word press free version. I tried but couldn’t find the permalink ?

@leesaggi- it is not possible to change the permalink structure on WordPress.com websites. No upgrade here will change that. That option is only available to self-hosted websites using the WP software.
If you are talking about changing a post or page slug on your WordPress.com website, that you can do.
