bloggeroftheweb.wordpress.com does not point to bloggeroftheweb.com
-
Hi all,
I have a problem here which I couldn’t really find any solution.
I registered my own domain http://bloggeroftheweb.com with my own registrar, and use ns1.wordpress.com, ns2.wordpress.com, ns3.wordpress.com as my nameservers. I have also done a NSLookup to make sure that bloggeroftheweb.com is successfully (in effect) using wordpress nameservers as DNS server.
Within wordpress itself, I purchase an annually domain mapping (10credits) to redirect http://bloggeroftheweb.com to http://bloggeroftheweb.wordpress.com.
Now in my Internet Explorer, when I type http://bloggeroftheweb.com, it is successfully redirected to http://bloggeroftheweb.wordpress.com.
However, when I click on any link in my blog, eg. About Me, it points to http://bloggeroftheweb.wordpress.com/about/
Yet, what I want is, it should point to http://bloggeroftheweb.com/about/
May I know how to get this done?

The redirect doesn’t work at all for me. Staff are probably the ones to help you, and they’ll be back at work in about eight or nine hours. Contact them from your dashboard.
-
Also, when I place my mouse pointer over “Home”, it links to http://bloggeroftheweb.wordpress.com.
I need to know how to make it links to http://bloggeroftheweb.com when I place my mouse pointer over the “Home” link.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Hi Mark,
I tried ur method, but when I try to load the page, it couldn’t load at all.
What happen is… at the lower left, it shows “Waiting for http://bloggeroftheweb.com” then change to “Waiting for http://bloggeroftheweb.wordpress.com” and back to the first one again.
Kinda weird. Any other solution?

Works for me, too, and yeah: ads are against the terms of service here and can get your blog deleted without warning.
-
Hi Mark and raincoaster,
what do you mean by “ad”? Can you elaborate?
Sorry, I am too new to this term. Probably you can enlighten me.
I would apologise if I violate any Terms of service.

EARN EASY CASH! SIGN UP NOW!
stuff that reads like that, particularly if it’s a large, colourful image, tends to be taken as an advertisement: because that’s what it is.

Your only blog post so far says:
Money-Making Opportunity : *** (Get-Paid-To-Read-Emails)
*** is one of the highest paying paid-to-read-emails program that has been around for some time. I joined this program way back and has been monitoring for quite a while. So far so good for me.
With a signup bonus of ## it is quite easy to attract people to sign up. But with a minimum payout of ##, it would take months or probably years for you to cash out if you do not refer your friends to help you in earning.
Many people got paid and you can actually read quite a number of good user reviews on their website http://www.***.com.
If you have any question concerning ***, please feel free to drop a comment here and I will reply accordingly.
Yeah, that’s reading rather like you’re advertising for them. But, of course, my opinion is just an opinion, as I’m not staff. Mark’s opinion, however, is important, because he’s in charge of deleting blogs with ads on them.

@bloggeroftheweb
Having your domain mapped by wordpress.com does not create any relief from any of the limitations and restrictions placed onwordpress.com bloggers. The Terms of Service and the policies apply to your blog just the same as they apply to all wordpress.com hosted blogs.Advertising is not allowed. http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adsense/
Using your blog to drive traffic to 3rd party sites is not allowed http://wordpress.com/tos/ (See section 2, 5th bullet)And, as raincoaster said the Mark posting into this thread is the staff member who decides what’s an ad and what isn’t. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/06/01/my-blog-has-been-suspended/
