Bloggers Spamming other Blogs Spreading Lies etc.

I don’t want to start anything but there are 2 people (wordpress users) for sure that are going around to other blogs that belong to people that have asked me to do specific work for them. They are making post on their blogs (my customers) saying not to visit me, not to allow, etc and things that are not true. There is no fee involved. I feel this is wrong. I can provide all the links I have found to said post on these blogs. If its aloud then I guess there is nothing that can be done. If it isn’t then tell me what I need to do as this is already a support question.

    Thanks

    Hello? Anyone home lol

This is what I know: WordPress does not censor.

The two options I see are:
    (1) respond by commenting on the blogs in question; or
    (2) if you feel you have a legal case you can retain a lawyer.

I’m not in a position to determine whether or not this is actually a support issue and I do not speak for WordPress, but my sense is that this is not a support matter.

    Ok thanks.. Timethief

    You’re welcome.

Best bet would be to send in a feedback or email to staff and make them aware of the issue. Please provide links to what you’re seen and and specifics that you are aware of.

This is a policy issue that we can’t resolve here in the forums. It can only be dealt with by a staff member.

And, yes, there are bits in the ToS that prohibit stuff like that.

I was one of those people being referenced. And because of the cyber-bullying I saw. I felt it was my duty. You have been blogging for about a week – and have already stirred a lot of trouble, and have been involved in 2 forums that I know of. And I found it alarming. If I was wrong, I apologize to WordPress for any violation which I may’ve done. But I don’t believe I slandered or violated anyone. I didn’t name call or cyber bully. I just told people that their blogs look fine (which they do) and didn’t think they needed to be critiqued. What exactly is wrong with that in terms of offering my opinion. At any rate – I’ve witness BC and Timethief treat another blogger very badly. And I feel very strong about making sure that happens to no one else.

Folks, if you have an issue with another member here, you need to take it up with staff via email or feedback.

Oh, and a friendly reminder. I’m not staff. Got 16 emails/ comments/ comment forms filled out yesterday about yesterday’s thread.

I did take it up with staff – by way of a feedback form, drmike. I’m merely responding to this forum because it obviously references me. All this pettiness – wasting everyone’s time and resources. Is this what forums are really for? I had already moved on from all this stuff, only to go to forums and see another one opened. Do you guys not have discretion in whether a forum is actually a valid forum – to even be put out there in the universe? Like I said, a lot of controversy and forums for someone who’s been blogging for a week; and it’s alarming. A lot of people got involved in all of this. And none of it should’ve really happened if proper blogging etiquette had been followed. Perhaps we should open a forum about that? Cyber-bullying?

    Thanks for your time.

By cyber-bullying, what do you mean? Personal info being released or people being asses? Do what raincoaster says and flame each other to generate traffic. lol People were bothering me a while back and I handled it by havign my blog labeled “adult”. Not a peep anymore because they usually can’t find me anymore. lol

Eh, did I miss another argument?

Rather than my explaining it nosysnoop – just check out blog critic’s blog. The one who opened this forum. That’s if you really care to get involved in any of that nonsense. No one cyber-bullied me, I just came to the defense of another one who was singled out and made a spectacle of (in the name of helping all of us wordpressers, who apparently aren’t capable of helping themselves). It seemed like the right thing to do. I’m not interested in generating traffic. I’ve been blogging for a long time and am quite comfortable with the audience I have. I feel for these moderators who must get bombarded with all these emails. I’m wondering how many of these usernames are in fact all the same person. Same personality, stylized writing, spelling errors, and attitude. I just wish forums were used to help all wordpressers. Not an outlet for a cyberbully to further along their agenda. That’s all.
