So I am new at this and I am going through the tutorial and trying to understand. I do have a question; so let’s say I want to post a blog on what ispired me to write my book, my journey so far and whats up ahead. Would I publish it in the Reader or the other way? By the way is there a certain number of characters allowed for either type. Thank I really appreciate this. There is so much to learn here, it’s like a whole new world. Also when would there be a need to create a page instead of a post.

You would publish it on your blog and it would appear in the reader for anyone who was following your site or who searched for a tag that you had applied to that post.

Not in the way that there is for Twitter. On your blog itself, there is no limit at all. When scrolling through the reader, you may not see a complete post, just the first paragraph or so. But if you click on that post, you will be able to see all of it in the Reader. It isn’t like Twitter where you have a hard limit.
Also when would there be a need to create a page instead of a post.
