    I did your 10 day course in getting started last year. I got bogged down around day 4 or 5 I think it was….I was travelling and at library computer but not sure that was the problem. I was having trouble getting to what you asked. I also had trouble with the settings and getting what I’d clicked on to promo my blog…the settings were not setting so it seemed like nobody saw what Id posted…maybe a few here an there.. Possibly I did not target the correct audience tho I think what I wrote about is rather general stuff…..possibly im completely living in illusion.

    I’m not very good with technology nor some of the terminology…possibly that was the issue with the 10 day thing. I feel that it would be waste of my time doing it again without help from somebody ….Is it that I need to pay to have my blogs seen…ie get more exposure? If I knew some of these answers I could move forward. I have a book coming out next year and I want to start blogging. I’d like to be part of Word Press but maybe I’m too techy stupid…some help for techno dummies would be nice. Facebook is easy .. You post and you get comments. You tag and u get more exposure. It’s all very easy. Why am I finding this so hard or is it that the community is hard to crack or be part of ? I’m not being arrogant . I just want to know if I can do this. Thanks. Much appreciated. ps would u advise getting help from someone who is part of WordPress…and I mean someone sitting with me guiding me through the terminology etc…

    Hi driscotara,

    I saw your message and wanted to share a few words of encouragement as a fellow blogger :)

    I think a good place to start would be to make two lists:

    1. What are the most important changes you would like to make to your WordPress.com blog at this time? Perhaps only pick 3 for now.
    2. What do you want from your blog? For example, you would like more comments on your posts? Do you want it to promote your book?

    These lists will help you work out what to tackle in the short term.

    Have a think about the most important changes you would like to make and if you’d like me to help with any of them, I’m happy to :)
