    If you have a blog like your-name.wordpress.com then there is no cost for the basic blog

    If you want to have a custom domain name (your-own-name.com) then yes there is a cost for domain registration and domain mapping so that your-own-name.com is shown in the browser window

    You could also map a sub-domain (blog.sketchapet.com.au) so your blog looked like it was part of your original site – that is also a charge for domain mapping

    If you have a professional site then many people buy the no Ads Upgrade – WordPress.COM pays the bills for the “free” blog by sometimes putting ads on the blogs

    Can anyone use your pictures? Not without your permission if you took the pictures. That’s just simple copyright law.
