  Please forgive me if this question doesn’t belong here. I’ve received such helpful answers before, I thought I’d ask. Is there a blogging challenge hosted by WordPress? I know there are various communities and writing prompts, but I seem to remember having seen something about a blogging challenge — daily posts on topics and such (in August, perhaps?). Thanks so much.

  There was. I gather it got sort of overrun with spammers desperately seeking exposure. You might try the Daily Prompt instead http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/07/10/daily-prompt-inspiration/
