Blogging for profit
-
Hi there,
I’m not sure if I’m contacting the right person, but I would like to create another blog through WordPress for my small business. Due to educational content of my future blog I would like to create something that will pay me.
How can I start and would you be able to help or direct me to the right person.
Thanks so much!
Best Regards,

Well, how do you envisage getting paid? For what? If it’s educational, just charge for the education. I charge for workshops, and people register via Paypal.

Hi Raincoaster,
Thank you for your reply.
What I was thinking is more of ‘pay per click’ system. There is a lot of blogs out there that are amazing and I’m sure owner gets some sort of monetary benefit from it.Also, do you know if it’s worth it to upgrade on WordPress.
P.S. Can you share a link on what you do.
Thanks again!

Pay per click is not only banned here, but it is appallingly low-rent. It would instantly brand your site as desperate for cash and low quality.
All blogger-initiated advertising is banned here. If you have a custom domain, you can apply for the WordAds upgrade once you have enough traffic.

We do have an advertising program called WordAds, which you can read more about here:
Advertising outside of WordAds at WordPress.com is not allowed. For full details, please see:
http://wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/
If you require other advertising, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on advertising if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. Please see this link to learn about the differences:
We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested:
