Blogging from smartphone Lumia

I have downloaded the app to enable me to blog from my Lumia smartphone when I’m travelling.
I have managed to post twice, with major difficulty, but now I can no longer do so (and when I did so, my photos appeared for a while then disappeared. I could only put them back by logging into my site from a laptop) I am able to ‘like’ and comment on other WP blogs from my smartphone , proving that I must be logged in. But when I hit ‘publish’ on my prepared text-plus-image, it tells me that my account cannot be verified. Where do I go from here?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We don’t have any official apps for Windows 10 actually. You can use a browser, though! Will that work for you?

Thanks so much. I’m going to investigate blogging via email. But I am still puzzled that I was once able to post via the app. Another time I managed it by putting a very simple post up, and then editing it by accessing it through ‘comments’ – how convoluted is that? When I posted via the app, my photo disappeared after about 24 hours, which was peculiar.
I’m also wondering how I shall access a second email account from my smartphone, but I guess that’s for me to struggle with. You’ve probably realised I’m not very smart!

Actually you would use your regular email account. You would send your posts to a secret address, and they would appear on the site. I hope that helps!

It does indeed. Thank you. I’ve got the email address sorted out and will try a short post tomorrow – I’ve already posted in the traditional way today, and one a day is enough, I think. But I’ll have to dispense with shortcodes though, as my smartphone keyboard doesn’t seem to have square brackets. Or am I being hopelessly naive?

I just read a tip that said they’re with the parentheses keys. Try touching and holding one of those to see if the bracket option comes up.

It works! I’ve done it! Sooo pleased. Thank you. But I forgot about categories and tags and sneaked them in later from my laptop. You’re quite right though. The parenthses keys do work, so no excuses next time.

Perfect, @margaret21 . And you’re right: you can add tags and categories at any time, though of course it’s nice to send them out with the initial post. You’ll get the hang of it. :) Cheers!
