Bloggy: deleting the Comments box from ONE post
-
Rich, following is the code, and this I know:
.entry-info { border: 1px dashed #cd736b; }HOWEVER ! – how do I get rid of the entire box for just the one post, please ?
B.g.: I’m creating a post that will be a sticky, and is a workaround for my inability to ‘portfolio-ise’ my site: it’s a table of images that have links to ToC-type pages.
And I REALLY NEED to get rid of that comments box … And also, come to think of it, the

that will turn up once it’s saved …
HLEP ! – that will keep you guessing, eh ? ;-)The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
SORRY SORRY SORRY ! i can only show you this page by getting you onto my site as admin., I believe … because it’s only saved as a draft.
-
MR, Staff can see your draft posts. You can turn off comments on a post-by-post basis in the post editor by scrolling down below the text area to the Discussion module. In that module, uncheck Allow Comments and Allow Trackbacks and then save.
To hide the categories, etc., from that specific post, you can target the post by the body class post id by adding the following to your custom CSS:
.postid-8010 footer.entry-meta { display: none; } -
It isn’t that I want to turn off the post’s comments, but that I need to DELETE that particular Comments box, Rich.
I want this sticky post to look totally unlike a post of any kind …I shall now rush off to utilise the second bit.
Thanks as ALWAYS … -
Silly me ! – I can’t, of course – not until the post has been saved. I can’t get at it via Customize before then.
Take that second one as workable; and hope that I’ve got across to you what I want for the first one … -
.sticky .entry-info { display:none; }or
.sticky .bloggy.bloggy-comment, .sticky p.numbercomment{ display:none; }I bloody FORGOT that Ana had passed this on to me coupla months back, Rich ! :-(
Would you reckon that either will do the trick ? -
It isn’t that I want to turn off the post’s comments, but that I need to DELETE that particular Comments box
I checked the Bloggy theme, and I see that when you turn off comments, it still displays a box at the top right of posts that says “no comments.”
To hide the part that says no comments and the icon just before it but keep the date, you could use this:
.bloggy-comment, .numbercomment { display: none; }Or to hide the entire box, including the date, you could use this:
.entry-info { display: none; }And to make either of those specific to a single post, you can use what is called a body class, which is one of the class names listed for the body tag in the HTML. For the post in your blog named “Navigation,” the unique body class for that post is “postid-8010” and you can use that in the selectors to limit the CSS to apply to that post only. Here are the same examples again only using the “post-id8010” class name:
.postid-8010 .bloggy-comment, .postid-8010 .numbercomment { display: none; }.postid-8010 .entry-info { display: none; } -
You are a very kind person, Sheri ! – many thanks indeed !
All this is being filed for that magical time when, having re-categorised and re-tagged all 20 pages of posts – DONE ! – and then assembled them all into ToCs, I can link said ToCs behind my image icons that will comprise the sticky post.
And thus, I fondly hope, will I have my own workaround for a ‘portfolio’ kind of of navigation.

It doesn’t work.
That CSS code does absolutely nothing, I REALLY regret to say.
Any further suggestions, please ? -
Don’t worry, I finally worked it out – N.B. both Rich and Cheri !
It’s not
postid-8010
it’s
post-8010and that was the only problem !
-
postid-8010 will also work, depending on exactly what element you are removing and what HTML structure is in place for that element. In other words, “.postid-8010 .entry-info” will work, and “.post-8010 footer.entry-meta” will also work—those just refer to slightly different parts of the page.

Ah, Cheri – I dunno, mate ! I tried all those combos on offer, and couldn’t make any of ’em work until I switched to removing the ‘id’ bit.
As for the link you so thoughtfully provided, wouldn’t not knowing that mean I hadn’t been able to discover that little change …?
[grin]
But thanks anyway; I do appreciate input !!!
