    Give this a try. It limits the change to 960px and wider. 959px is when the sidebar drops below the content.

    @media screen and (min-width: 960px) {
    .two_third {
        border-right: 1px dashed #E0D8CC;
        width: 75%;
        margin-right: 0 !important;
        padding-right: 4%;
        position: relative;
        left: 1px;
    }
    }

    Yup – with one exception: it joins the vertical line to the edges of the widgets, whereas I’d like there to be a gap between (which was, previously, the padding-left: 15px; when the code was

    .widget-area {
    	border-left: 1px dashed #E0D8CC;
    	padding-left: 15px;
    }

    I’ll see if I can work out how to get that gap back; but when you’re on-line again in the morning, would you check to see if I was able to, please, Rich ?
    Thanks very much !

    No, I couldn’t separate the vertical from the edges of the widgets; so it’s OTY, m’dear …
    PLEASE, I should say !

    I’ve just noticed that the left-hand edges of the Comments boxes have been affected by this coding change. HOW is well beyond my poor comprehension …
    If it’s too hard because of this damned complex responsive Ariel design, please don’t worry, Rich: I can make do very well without a full-length vertical line …

    Hi Margaret, I’m helping out Richard in the CSS Customization forums for a while. :-)

    I’ve just noticed that the left-hand edges of the Comments boxes have been affected by this coding change.

    I’m not sure what you’re seeing because the comment box is looking OK over on my end – this is what I see in Firefox 29 on a Mac:

    MARGARET ROSE STRINGER staying visible

    Would it be possible to take a screenshot to help me figure out what you mean? You can upload the screenshot – in a graphic format like JPG, PNG, or PDF – in your Media Library. Thanks!

    I reverted to my own coding, that stops at the end of the sidebar widgets, because I couldn’t bear how the site looked.
    That’s why I marked it ‘resolved’ – in other words, I decided to just go with it.
    Don’t worry about it, Kathryn … but thank you !
