I’m trying to add a Bloglovin Widget. I have the code from Bloglovin but can’t find anywhere in the widget section to add it. I am NOT a computer geek and need step by step instructions. Every help topic I’ve read so far hasn’t worked. Please help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There isn’t a place to put the code I received from Bloglovin in the text widget. That’s the whole problem I don’t know how to put the code in.

Hi @krispyj, the bloglovin official widget includes code that isn’t allowed here, but we can help you convert it into something that is usable. Can you share the code you’re trying to use?
When pasting code in the forum, click the “code” button in your reply, paste the code they gave you, then click “code” again.
Also, you can pick an image you’d like to use for this. For example, you can see one in this post:
https://dailypost.wordpress.com/2014/08/26/bloglovin/Once you’ve chosen an image, upload it to your site. You can do that by going to wordpress.com/post and clicking the + sign to add media. No need to actually publish the post.

Hmm, it looks like it didn’t all show up but I think I have enough to work with it.
If you want to use this image:

https://activate.bloglovin.com/profile/10793727Here’s the code you will use:
<a href="https://activate.bloglovin.com/profile/10793727"><img src="https://activate.bloglovin.com/common/images/badge1.png" width="200" height="92"/></a>Go to My Site > Customize > Widgets > Add > Text Widget, and paste that code I gave you.

I put it in content. ACTIVATE Blog showed up as a widget in right column but I still cannot verify blog. Says Blog activation failed.

Ok. I’m not computer savvy enough for this. I give up. Thank you all for trying to help.
-
Interesting. I believe I can’t add the widget is b’cos I can’t claim my wordpress blog on Bloglovin. That needs to be done first. (((SIGH)))
-
On my homepage the activate blog icon is there and I can click and it links to bloglovin but when I try to verify my wordpress site it won’t verify.

Hi @krispyj,
Can you start by going to My Site > Customize > Widgets > Sidebar > + Add a widget?
Then search for Text.
Click on the text widget, and then, yes, paste the code I gave you in the content.
I took screenshots of every step of this process here:
https://cloudup.com/i2zFCQf-8HjYou can see the widget working in the last one!
I hope that helps!

If you are still trying to connect your blog to Bloglovin’ don’t you just put the code they give you into the top post on your blog? Go to edit on the post you will use and at the top of your text box it shows two tabs, it automatically will be on Visual, click on HTML and paste your snippet of code at the bottom of all your text then update the post, Bloglovin’ should be able to connect then.

@thebookishloner if the code they send includes script tags, they will get stripped out. You can add an HTML image and a link, though. The code for that is earlier in this thread.

Thank you all for your assistance. I had done everything corretly but still didn’t work. Then my computer died. My friend sent me a tablet. I tried again and for some reason this time it was SUCCESSFUL! This thread can help others for sure.
