Bloglovin widget only displaying HTML text
-
I recently created a bloglovin account and would like to add their widget to my blog page. However, every time I copy and paste their code into the text widget on wordpress, all i get is code on my blog and not the Bloglovin button. Could this be a problem with wordpress or the bloglovin code?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m having the same issue. The reason is because the new Bloglovin’ buttons contain Javascript code, and WordPress.com doesn’t allow it in their widgets. It’s frustrating as anything…

That is really disappointing. WordPress is very popular. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t fix this!

I’ve just done some digging and it appears that Bloglovin’ did recently change the way their widget works. The information on the Daily Post article here is no longer valid:
https://dailypost.wordpress.com/2014/08/26/bloglovin/When I went to get the widget code from Bloglovin’ a message let me know that the code would not work on WordPress.com:
https://cloudup.com/c3X3X5YMSvFThe one workaround I can think of for now is to add a static image badge to your site using HTML. Here is the quick one I just wrote up:
https://cloudup.com/ioYdWjVYQjy<a target="_blank" href="https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/YOUR-BLOG-LINK" class="blsdk-follow"><img src="http://www.bloglovin.com/images/box-128.png" width="64" /><p>Follow Me on Bloglovin'</p></a>You will want to replace the text inside the href with your own Bloglovin’ link
They have two versions of their logo at the bottom of this page:
http://www.bloglovin.com/en/widgetsYou may also be able to create your own “Follow Me” buttons as long as they comply with the Bloglovin’ trademark policy.
I’ll let our developers know and see if there is anything we can do on our end.

For those of you who want the official Bloglovin’ badge here is another code snippet:
<a target="_blank" href="https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/YOUR-BLOG-LINK" class="blsdk-follow"><img src="http://en.support.files.wordpress.com/2015/06/bloglovin_follow_badge.png" width="64" /><p>Follow Me on Bloglovin'</p></a>While we look at a more permanent solution, I would also suggest reaching out to Bloglovin’ directly regarding providing a widget that does not require JavaScript.

Thank you bdukes! I’ve spent the last half hour looking for a solution and this will work great for now until Bloglovin gets it together.

This works great, I used the last code and everything is fine now. Thank you so much bdukes!
