Blog/news page not showing summary, only full text

  Hello,

  When i create a post the news page will show the FULL TEXT and not the Summary. In Settings >Reading i have set feeds to be summary but no luck.

  Does anyone know what im doing wrong? i only want to show a summary or x amount of charaters.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  The setting at setting > reading only controls what is shown in your RSS feed. It does not control what is shown in the site posts.

  What shows in tags, categories and archives pages, and in the main blog page varies from theme to theme. Some designers will show the full text, some will show just an excerpt and some will show only the post titles.

  There are a couple options possible, but we will have to take a look at your site, and the site linked to your username only has the “hello world” post and nothing else. Can you give us a link to the site you are referring to?

  I’m having the same problem.

  When someone clicks on a category, I would like for them to be able to decide if they want to view the whole post or not.

  You can use the read-more tag in your posts:

  Or you can switch to a theme that automatically displays beginnings or titles on category pages – see here:
