Blogroll Bug

Have been adding links to several blogroll categories over the last couple days. Today when I do this it posts all the links in in one category…Blogroll, which I don’t have any links in and don’t want it to go there. I have attempted this multiple times and keep getting the same result.

What it is now doing is adding a Category itself called 1356 and placing the new link there.

I ended up setting the category as the default in settings > writing then adding without clicking anything. So that is the work around.

Go to settings > writing and set the default links category to one that you created making sure to click “save changes” when done.

Now go to links > links categories and delete the category called “1356.”

Somehow the standard default links category was deleted and since a new default was not set, wordpress.COM had to create another one. You might now have to edit your links and set the correct categories for them.

The default links category and the default post category has to be set to a category that exists, or worpdress will create the numbered categories because it cannot create a link in the links widget without a category and you cannot create a post without a category.
