Blogroll disappeared

I’m using Mistylook as my template and have built up about 60 links in my blogroll….but it is gone…vanished…kaputski!! I was gone over the weekend and I came up to do some work online today and not only is blogroll not on my blog, but the widget is not in the widget list. I can go to manage links and the list is there, but not on the page? Whatupwitdat? If anyone knows why this is or how to fix this please let me know ASAP.

In design > widgets, look for the “links” widget. That is the actual “blogroll” widget. (Yes, I know it is confusing.)

If the links widget does not show up under the available widget area at the left, make sure “show all widgets appears at the top of the column on the pulldown, and then click the “show” button at the to refresh the list.

I did all of that….In this template the links widget says “there are no options for this widget…” so I used the blogroll widget…it was up on my blog for three weeks…I put over 60 links to sites outside of my blog..it was there yesterday…now it is not only gone from my blog, but not in the widget list at all….there is no widget named blogroll now. Weird huh! Any if I go to Manage and Links the whole list of all my links is still there. I have checked the settings in every case (read, write etc) and nowhere is there a place where I might have inadvertently clicked a checkbox or radio button to turn off the blogroll widget.

I know there must be a fix for this……what it is or where that info is located I do not know and any help would be greatly appreciated.

You cannot possibly have “used the blogroll widget”, because there exists no blogroll widget. As thesacredpath told you, the links widget does the job. And, yes, there are no options for the links widget: it just adds the links functionality for the sidebar, but you write and manage your links in Manage>Links, as you already know. Please give us the link to your blog so we can look at things.

Well now…I added the links widget and it showed up…I placed it in the position I wanted it and now it is back….and titled Blogroll……..I wonder how that happened? Especially since there is no Blogroll. Can’t change the title, Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm????????

The title for the “links” widget is taken from the category that you have assigned to your links – blogroll by default. Create a new links category called “links” and then assign that category to each of your links (making sure to uncheck “blogroll” and then the title will change to “links.”
