Blogroll question

I suspect it is impossible to find out, but just in case – is there a way to know how many blogs list mine in their blogroll?

does WordPress keep track of this sort of thing?

    Thank you….

    (and Happy New Year!)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

wordpress does not keep track of this.
Go to your Google Webmasters account. Click > the name of the blog.
    > your site on the web
    > links to your site

    Thanks! Very helpful, as usual…

    You’re welcome. :)

    Well, me again…

I guess I have a bigger problem than anticipated… I’m having trouble to verify my ownership with Google.

I am trying to follow the instructions but I think I’m doing something wrong. When it says upload the file to my blog, where exactly would I upload it to? Are there step by step instructions or is this too naive a question?

When I try to upload and then visit that link through my browser, this pops up

    Any advice?

Try http://technorati.com instead. It also lists all incoming links to your blogs, including ones Google doesn’t catch.

I just signed with technorati, but don’t see how to get any info on my blog using it….

as to the google verify, it seems to me that I might be missing a lot of stuff if my blog is not verified with google – am I right?

I see that I can also download a “meta file” – and it needs to go in the body of my blog’s title – I am really worried of doing something wrong and messing up the opening page of my site….

Is there any fool’s proof way to get this verification done?

There is NO fool-proof way to get it done, because it depends on Google. There are lots of threads around about Google verification, though.

If you signed up with Technorati, search it for your blog when you’re signed in, then Claim your blog (use quick claim). Then it will show you all kinds of information about your blog.

Don’t know how I did it, but I managed to get verified with google….

a happy ending for a soap opera, but I wish I knew what I did this time that worked…

I will now play with the features…

thanks again, sorry for being pretty naive at this

Pretty amazing all the info available at google webmaster – I just wonder how many other tools for bloggers are out there that I don’t know about.

As to technorati, my blog does not seem to be “found” by them – so I could not use their resources to evaluate my site.

As to the blogroll thing – as far as I understood, google webmaster gives info on how many blogs linked to your site, but that includes comments that I leave on other blogs, or bloggers who leave comments on mine. Being included in a blogroll is not shown independently – I guess I could figure it out by going to each of the links and figuring it out, but it’s not worth all the trouble.

google webmaster is also pretty nice to evaluate how fast your pages are loading, and giving tips on how to improve speed.

Might be a good idea for all the newbies who do not know about it, to make sure and register their blog with them.
