Blogs can be hacked/stolen

One of my fellow CP bloggers had his blog hacked! However he got it back, apparently, you can find out someones password through a non hacking method! He got his blog back thanks to wordpress, other users I know have been hacked inclue watex, chewy pup, aguiar and more, wordpress needs to get to the bottom of this!

  • So someone you don’t name says his blog was hacked using a method you don’t describe. We’ll get right on that.

The way people’s blogs get “hacked” are:

    1. Adding other administrators. Administrators can do anything, including remove the blog owner. Don’t add your friends as administrators; make them Editors, Authors or Contributors instead.

    2. Using poor passwords. Poor passwords are easily guessed. Use a strong password for your WordPress.com account and a different strong password your Gmail/Yahoo/email account.

There is also currently a fad going around certain club penguin blogs for:

    A) threatening to hack someone
    B) claiming you are someone you are not, in hopes of getting their passwords, etc
    C) claiming to have been hacked when you were not, because it gets you a lot of attention.

These things all hurt the kids whose blogs actually WERE stolen (like tellyworth says, usually through passwords; if you GIVE someone your blog by making them admin, it’s not really hacking, is it?) because they make their complaints look common and run-of-the-mill when losing something you’ve worked for that hard is really heartbreaking. I hope the people who pull stunts like that get kicked out of Club Penguin and mocked on the street. If I found out someone had pulled that crap, I’d tell everyone I knew their real name.

    But then, I’m mean.
