Blogs for fictional characters
-
I’m about to self-publish a novel, and I want to set up blogs for several of its characters, so that they can “converse” with readers and with each other. I see two ways that I could do this, I was wondering which way makes the most sense, or maybe if there’s a better way to do it altogether.
1) I could create a blog for each of them on my WordPress account.
2) I could create a blog for each of them on their own WordPress accounts. Are there any advantages/disadvantages to either approach? It seems to me that #1 might be easier because I wouldn’t have to log out of my own account to administer one of the character blogs. On the other hand, I think I’ll have to log in as one of the characters any time I want that character to leave a comment on his own blog (or on the blog of another character), making me wonder if it really makes any difference one way or the other.
Any comments and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciate. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
If you want it to look like different people talking with each other, I’d say it would be best to create a different account for each character. Yes, you’ll need to log out and log in frequently to use those accounts but it’s the only way to actually keep the names and usernames separate :)
If you create all blogs under your account and won’t add other accounts (your characters) as authors, your username will appear as author for all posts and comments made there. -
Thanks for that. You’re right, it will be a minor hassle logging in and out of the various accounts — in fact, when I first tried to respond to your note, I couldn’t, because I was somebody else. :) But shedding my secret identity wasn’t all that hard, and your point makes sense. Thanks again.
