blogs I follow are disappearing

Hi…in the past few weeks I’ve noticed that blogs I follow, some for over a year and that I’m active commenting on, are disappearing from my Reader. When I’ve looked for them in my “Blogs I Follow” listing, they’ve disappeared from there as well. What’s up?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Are those blogs still around?

Login to your WordPress.com account in a browser tab and access one of the sites you follow in another tab. Do you see “Following” or “Follow” button to the top left on the the Admin bar?

Most definitely….if you view my latest post addressing this subject you’ll see it’s happening to others. The blogs I’ve noticed are ones I’ve been in continual relationship with. Who knows who else has disappeared. Someone suggested it’s happening randomly since a WordPress update.

The ‘follow’ button on the sites that went missing were present. Not clicked that I was ‘following’. As I said….when I then looked into my ‘Blogs I follow’ listing…they had also disappeared from the listing. I’ve followed one blog for 2 years!

  • That’s interesting. I tagged this post staff’s attention. Hopefully they can demystify.

    Hi there,

I’m so sorry about this. I know this happened for a couple other users when the switched their primary Gravatar email address.

Did you make a switch recently? We have our developers looking into this. It was fixed, but before the fix, the issue would have remained.

No…I personally haven’t changed anything. Although my understanding is that a change of any kind has caused this with others… a theme change particularly.

Hm, I’ve never had a theme change cause this from my experience, but I can look into this further. Can you show me exactly which blogs have been removed from your Blogs I Follow list?

    Thank you!
