Blogs I Follow on another site is showing my followed blogs
-
Bit of an odd one.
I’ve been visiting someone else’s WordPress-based website (https://gesteofrobinhood.com/) and they have a widget on their sidebar listing “Blogs I Follow”. Thing is, the blogs listed there are the ones that I follow – they cannot be that blogger’s followed blogs, because I only created one of them this morning and it has no posts. What would cause that? I assume that any visitor to that blog will see their list of followed blogs rather than the blogger’s ones. It has no impact on me, obviously, but it is curious.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @emmamavin,
Just to add in, to what @strikebuys explains.
When I tried to open the site in my browser it displayed the blogs I followed –– instead of the blogs the site owners. And when I tried to open it in a Private(incognito) browser it showed no sites. The widget seems to have a different behavior than expected. It might be an error.
I am just tagging the staff to look into it and provide further insights. Though it’s not a support issue, even I am curious to know about it! :) Let’s wait for their inputs.
Thanks!

Hi there,
I can’t seem to be able to replicate this. I can only see their “Blogs I follow” list. Can you please grab a screenshot of what you’re seeing so I can better troubleshoot this issue?
Thanks!

Hi Fotis,
Have a look at this screenshot. The “Blogs I follow” widget shows the blogs I(username: pavanraheja) follow on someone else’s website. I am following “Matt Mullenweg”, “Globe Trotting”, “Discover”, etc. It should show the blogs which the owner of the site https://gesteofrobinhood.com/ is following.
I hope this helps.
Thanks!

I can confirm I see the same behaviour as pavanraheja. Here is my screenshot. This is the list of blogs followed by myself (strikebuys), not the blog owner.
Hope this helps.

Thank you all for reporting this. It’s a known issue and it can be solved by removing the widget and then re-adding it via the WP Admin dashboard (WP Admin > Appearance > Widgets).
